The United Nations Literature and Sociology Scholar Association (UNLSSA) is a prestigious English writing competition designed for global scholars, open to students from the first year of high school through to their final year of college. UNLSSA offers five distinct genres for submission, each aligned with one of the United Nation’s Inner Development Goals (IDGs), which serve as core skillsets for tackling global challenges in the decades to come. 

These genres include fiction, nonfiction, analytical, philosophical and sociological writing, complete with subcategories ranging from creative stories to academic papers. Together, this plethora of submissions offers a dynamic platform for emerging writers to share their work, ensuring every original piece has a chance to be shortlisted while contributing meaningfully to pioneering concepts.

Entrants are encouraged to demonstrate expertise, creativity, and the courage to push the boundaries of conventional writing across the 5 submission categories. All submissions will be carefully reviewed and may be selected for workshops led by professors specializing in each genre. This competition opts to cultivate well-rounded, reflective writers with a deep passion for the craft.
